Nokia and Microsoft partner up! [Backlink from HubPages]

http://hubpages.com/hub/Nokia-and-Microsoft-partner-up
An article I posted talking about Microsoft's partner with Nokia.
Here's the Article, quoted.

What happened?

Well, I decided to write this hub because of the large volume of searches it was receiving this past week, and it's about something I care about! Technology!
Anyways, let's get started with the details.
What happened is that Nokia and Microsoft have partnered up to build "a new global mobile ecosystem." (As quoted from http://www.microsoft.com/presspass/press/2011/feb11/02-11partnership.mspxBy this, Microsoft mean that they are partnering up with Nokia, to offer cheaper Windows Phones, on Nokia hardware. Nokia accepted because Nokia's Symbian platform is crumbling in to the ground, while iOS, Android, and Windows Phone are the three more competent competitors.
What does this mean for you and me?
Well, it doesn't really mean much - aside from the fact that Nokia's Symbian platform will now rest in peace, while Windows Phone 7 prevails on all of Nokia's smartphone devices. When that happens, Windows Phone 7 devices' price will be pushed down for many people to buy, as Nokia have design and hardware expertise in the mobile market, and because of this - Nokia also have cheaper parts which cost less, and will be priced less for consumers.
This partnership now allows us all to get WIndows Phone 7 devices at a cheaper price, while Nokia, the hardware leader in mobile phone devices will still be able to make profits and create even better devices, with the aid of Microsoft's software.
Windows Phone 7 isn't all they are integrating, Microsoft's Bing and Ad management will also be involved to create a better search experience, and more opportunities for mobile advertising.
Thanks for Reading!
Hopefully you know what's with all the Microsoft and Nokia Buzz this week!

How to get more followers on Twitter [HubPages Backlink]

http://hubpages.com/hub/howto-get-more-followers-on-twitter?done
Click above to view the article I posted on HubPages, How to get more followers on Twitter.

Here's the article quoted.
Let's Get Started!
Getting more followers on Twitter might seem like one of those things which you can't achieve without any money. Or having to pay Twitter or other third party services which might as well had be scams.
Getting more followers on Twitter is pretty straight forward, and all it takes is a little bit of work and reading. The secret sauce really is as simple as you might think, then again - it's so obvious, that people go 'Ohh!' when they learn this trick.
Think about it this way. When someone follows you, you would usually follow them back. So why don't you follow? Following others is the EASIEST way to get hundreds and hundreds of followers really easily, then again, it might be a bit spammy following everyone and everyone on Twitter. So..

Follow people who are interested in things that you Tweet about.
By doing this, you are effectively driving the correct traffic to your Tweets, therefore increasing Retweets, and you in turn get more followers. By following random people, you'll get the Follower count, sure - but they won't be interested in what you have to say, and might just un-follow you.
Well, it really is that simple, by doing this - you can create your very own large audience, and help out others who would like some more followers. Also, people who follow 1-2 people, and have millions of followers, aren't very good examples of people you should follow. If you do follow them, chances are - they won't follow you back.
Useful & Meaningful Tweets
Post Tweets that people might be interested in, rather than silly pointless Tweets like "I'm going to feed the dog", because to be perfectly honest, no one cares about that, obviously - if it's a personal account, then that's fine, I'm sure many of your friends enjoy learning about what you do in your spare time, never the less, back to the point. It doesn't seem logical to post things like that on a business account that is trying to get more followers and more of an audience to the product or service.
Polls, Interaction & Market Research
Interacting with your audience is key in getting more people interested in what you have to offer, so occasionally, post a message like "What do you like doing in your spare time?" you'll get mention replies like "listen to music", and similar things. Then that provides the user with a closer connection to you, as well as some insight for you to use in creating a product or service, or even bettering what you currently have.
Thanks for Reading!
Thank you for reading this hub, and I hope you've learnt something about Twitter, and how you can get some more followers. If you have any questions, post them in the comments, and I'll write a new hub with more information on replies to your questions. :)

Testing Testing? Highest FPS You will EVER See!

Here's a video that we recorded at 725fps while playing a game called Urban Terror (Open Source QUAKE 3 Mod)
This may as well be the most detailed video you ever see - it was recorded at 725 frames per second, and is 695 frames per second off what humans can perceive!

Well, here it is!
Make sure you set it to 720p (YouTube HD)

What to Expect: Windows 8

Microsoft Windows 8 will soon be Microsoft's 8th version of Windows. At the moment, we have no clue as to what's coming in Windows 8. I'm going to be sharing my opinion of what's to come in Windows 8.

Microsoft are just starting to realize simplicity is key in an operating system, and that's why some have switched to Mac. Windows 7 showed us that Microsoft is capable of creating a simplistic feel, yet have such a complex back-end. I think, Windows 8 will be able to be as simplistic as ever, while still being extremely complex, but having all those features hidden from direct display.

In Windows 8, I think there will be some deep social integration with Facebook, Live MSN, Spaces, and maybe even Twitter. Aside from some of the social integration, I also think the UI will be improved, slightly - but Microsoft has learnt that their Windows 7 OS is by far the most successful, so they're going to stick with it, I don't think the look an feel of the operating system will change much.

As well as these features, Microsoft will definitely add some Live and Cloud services in to the OS. For example, SkyDrive, Spaces, Hotmail, Messenger and maybe even the new Microsoft store!

One of the best new features, for all of us - boot time. All Microsoft operating systems get faster boot times, every release. Windows 8 won't be different, it'll probably boot faster than Windows 7 does now.

One last feature I think Windows 8 will have, is the integration of USB3.0, for example - when you plug in a USB3.0 device, Windows will prompt you to connect the device to a USB3.0 capable port - or something like that.

I'm also quite sure, there will be a strong focus on cloud computing, aside from Google, Microsoft is the only other major company that is doing cloud based work. we can see Microsoft is interested in the cloud, from some of their other products. Microsoft's cloud based apps include those, such as, SkyDrive, Office WebApps, Lync, SharePoint, Office365, and many more applications that Microsoft have planned for the web. I think their new OS will have something to so with tie cloud. I have also heard plans for an open standard WebGL platform, that Google are exploring, so don't fret, gamers!

Well, that's what I think Windows 8 will have in the new release. Post your thoughts in the comments, if you'd like.

Welcome to My Blog!

I just thought up this silly idea to post my works on my own blog, to make it officially mine, rather than posting it all on other sites like Helium, don't worry, I'll still be posting on Helium, Bukisa, and HubPages!

Never the less, welcome to my blog, hope you enjoy some of the articles you find here! If this blog does become popular, I'll be moving it over to WordPress and giving it a domain name!

Thanks!
